The Ethics Hedge: Exploring the Ethics Trail

A story adventure that connects directly with ValQuest lessons and ValQuest Video

Hedge is the perfect starting point for young learners in kindergarten through 3rd grade who are beginning to explore values, choices, and character. This 81‑page adventure story introduces children to the same core values taught throughout the ValQuest Curriculum and the ValQuest Video series—making it an ideal companion to both.

The journey begins with siblings Wynn (10) and Mia (7), two curious and relatable kids who sometimes make the same kinds of mistakes children everywhere make. As they travel the Ethics Trail, they’re guided by three wise mentors—Felix, Ren, and Ivy—who help them climb seven “value mountains,” each representing an essential life principle.

Every day on the trail brings a new challenge and a new value to understand. These seven values align directly with the themes taught in the ValQuest lesson plans and reinforced through ValQuest Video’s short, story‑based digital lessons. Whether a child is reading the book, watching the videos, or participating in classroom activities, they encounter the same consistent messages about kindness, responsibility, honesty, respect, cooperation, perseverance, and the Golden Rule.
